Pernec began its operation in 1973 through a joint venture between Pernas Engineering Sdn Bhd
and Nippon Electric Company ( NEC) of Japan.Its business then was focused on
supplying Telecommunications equipment to Jabatan Telekom Malaysia.

In 1981, Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) invested as the majority shareholder and steered Pernec towards expansion.
By early 90's, the company has captured a significant market share in Malaysia by supplying Malaysian Telecommunications
equipment to Telecommunication operators. For overseas business, we had been in Ghana & Guinea
supplying switching equipment and currently continuing with Middle East market.

By year 2000, Pernec expand rapidly by focusing on customers core business especially on the requirements for
Total Network Solutions by Telcos and Total Business Solutions by business corporations,
government departments and financial institutions.

Going forward, Pernec now expand rapidly into new strategic business thrust for growth
namely Telco Outsourcing, IT Outsourcing, Halal Square and Islamic Financial Solution.
